Geithner: Another Crook?
More corruption in the Obama team transition cabinet appointments! Apparently Obama’s appointee to the Secretary of the Treasury was caught “fudging” his taxes, failing to pay payroll taxes and taking child care exemptions for sending his kids to camp. He also employed an illegal alien , after his housekeeper’s immigration status expired.
Now, reports are that he is a very brilliant person, having been the head of the Federal Reserve and also Under-Secretary to the Treasurer, as well as having a very extensive resume in government service.
He and the President elect have a lot in common, as Tim’s father, Peter Geithner supervised Obama’s mother, Stanley Anne Dunham in Indonesia in the World Bank. Also Timothy, like Obama, spent most of his childhood growing up abroad. In fact, he graduated from High School in Bangkok. He is also only 2 weeks younger than Obama. So there is a very strong connection to the Ford Foundation again here, the same agency that supported the World Bank and the “micro-financing” that Stanley Anne Dunham was advocating.
So, here’s the guy who is going to be handling Social Security and taxes and he had to pay something like 34K in back taxes, without a penalty, according to Right Soup.
Are you kidding me? And, he is supposed to be giving the American people an accurate accounting of the bailout. This is the guy who helped Bear Sterns get a Bailout in the Spring, and so far, there has been no accounting. Does anyone believe this guy? He is just another front man for the Wall Street financiers. And for a guy who was making 383K and tried to dodge his taxes and fudge them, he has zero credibility.
Another question being raised by Andy Martin is why is Geithner being treated differently from Zoe Baird, who was chased out of Washington, when the same kind of illegal immigrant employment was discovered? Is this just another example of the misogynistic Obama administration?
Is this just another lovable, huggable Bernie Madoff? Is the Publlic supposed to accept these white collar criminals to run the most important details of their financial future?
I think not.
Those same sources you are quoting say the guy is honest. I would like to know who does his taxes.
