Shepard Smith Shocker:…………………………………… “Blagojevich Does not Deserve a Fair Trial”
In an extraordinary Press conference, Governor Rod Blagojevich appealed for the support of the newspapers and the community. Apparently the state legislature is hearing his impeachment next Monday, January 26, 2009, but has the legislature two rules barring him from bringing any of his own witnesses or defending himself.
Frankly, I could hardly believe that he would not have an opportunity to defend himself. He stated that the real reason for removing him from office was so that the legislature could increase the State taxes.
During the press conference, Fox anchor man Shepard Smith, kept barging in and criticizing Blagojevich, and at the end, mentioned that he had been receiving emails that he should let Blagojevich talk. He became very irritated and said that Governor Blagojevich does not deserve a “fair trial”, because he was guilty.
I could hardly believe my ears.
Frankly, I have had some very serious doubts about the whole Blagojevich affair, beginning with the dramatic arrest of the Governor, followed by US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald’s failure to name any other co-conspirators. Very suspicious. Personally, since Fitzgerald’s tenure is up this year, he is dependent on Obama to renew his appointment, so that creates a conflict of interest, and Fitzgerald should recuse himself.
I have heard from other sources that Shep has a kind of a “man crush” on Obama, so possibly he wishes this whole thing would go away. According to Kevin Naff of the Washingon Blade Shep is a closet homosexual.
You can hear Shep interrupting during the News conference, but after the news conference, he responded to the emails complaining about his interruptions, and he said “No Blagojevich does not deserve a fair trial.”
Tonight, the Governor released 43 subpoenas, according to the Chicago Breaking News to access correspondence and such for Obama’s advisers, Valerie Jarrett and David Axelrod, amongst 32 others.
