Adam Lambert is No Johnny Cash
Any Johnny cash fans out there? I’m not particularly a country music fan, but believe me, when I heard Adam Lambert sing his version of “Ring of Fire” for his selection on “Ole Opry House” week on American Idol, I was horrified.
I know that the female judges are still floored by his good looks and sex appeal, but I couldn’t agree with Simon Colwell more, when he said “there’s a lot of people throwing their TV’s out the window right now.”
I also have to tell you that I have tremendous respect for Johnny Cash, and Adam’s rendition was an insult, I felt, because he tried to change the classic “signature” song of June Carter into some kind of a heavy metal and Indian song with the sitar, according to Weblogs.newsday.com. So I have to agree with Simon that it was a lot of rubbish. I think it would make Johnny roll over in his grave.
