According to Accuracy in Media, the cap and trade system that was implemented in Europe in order to comply with the Kyoto Protocol, has not been successful.(article written June 2008)

And, in Europe, there was a lot more pollution because of out-of-date factories. In fact, according to the article, “the European Environment Agency reported that emissions from factories and plants that trade pollution permits rose 0.4 percent in 2006 over the previous year, and 0.7 percent in 2007, the first two years of the system’s operations.”

Now, I have no problem with cleaning up the atmosphere of hazardous chemicals and waste products, but it has yet to be proven that CO2 is really responsible for the so-called “Global Warming.” The latter itself has been highly disputed by scientists who have demonstrated that humans and plants also emit CO2. Also, the so-called “truth” of Al Gore’s “Global Warming” has proven to be more of a cult phenomenon than a scientific reality. Over 30,000 scientist have sued Al Gore for fraud. According to Newsbusters, meteorologist Paul Becker has stated that “Al Gore’s global warming is the biggest myth of the century, even transcending Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. Those who believed the latter three myths would also be snowed by Gore’s myth.”

If Obama is successful in mandating his cap-and trade, the average working class individual will see an alarming rise in the cost of every day essentials, like, electricity, gas and food. Additionally, because the “so-called” polluting industries will be losing their profits, they will be cutting back on the workforce. Estimates are 400,000 jobs will be lost.

The Obama administration seems to be hell bent on following policies that have failed, like the “spend your way out of a recession” philosophy that was responsible for the “lost decade of Japan”. President Sarkozy of France sent him a message that it is definitely better to lower taxes to keep a vibrant business atmosphere. So far, Obama’s policies are scaring the hell out of the public and investors. But maybe that’s what he is supposed to do: spread chaos. Even “socialistic” Sweden has let its car company, Saab, fail.

Obama is always saying that his Cap and Trade is the only way to break our dependence on foreign countries.  But why is he banning all offshore drilling? The oil industry has the technology to pump oil without damaging the environment. The problem comes in the transportation of oil. Guess Obama can’t afford to displease his Sheik friends.
